Advice well-travelled…
The UK outbound market should see “strong growth” over the next five years, according to leisure analyst Mintel. It forecasts the total volume of outbound and domestic holidays and breaks should increase by more than 3% to 98.8 million by 2020 from 95.8 million in 2015, with spending on holidays forecast to rise by 13% to £45 billion a year by 2020.
Travel claims range from isolated incidents to complex, multi-jurisdictional matters and, in a highly competitive and crowded market, negative reporting can have a highly detrimental effect on sales and share prices.
Additionally the threat of Health and Safety Executive and criminal prosecutions, the rise of fraudulent claims, the impact of outside events, sensationalist and social media broadcasts all increase risk and need to be dealt with in the most considered, controlled and cost-effective manner.
