The truth, the whole truth and nothing but...what some of our Apprentices have to say about their experience of working for Plexus Law
Alfie Roy-Webb, Finance Apprentice, Leeds
“The social aspect of working at Plexus is another good part alongside the everyday work. With the apprentices, we try to arrange nights out on the last Friday of every month (which is usually also pay day) and these nights are optional. As well as these you will find that within your teams you may arrange nights out as well as the standard Christmas meals as well as a lot more. There is also a lot of charity work that you can help with if you wish.”
Becky Wright, Paralegal Apprentice, Liverpool
“I work in the Fraud department, commonly known as Intel, in the Liverpool office. My typical day starts off by logging on to the computer and checking my emails, if there is nothing to address I will begin my work by selecting tasks out of my team’s task list. The majority of my work consists of carrying out multiple searches on potentially fraudulent claimants and producing a claimant profile. A large amount of our work consists of trailing through social media sites in order to find the claimant(s) – this is no problem for a 19 year old like myself.”
Tom Des-Rosier, Solicitor Apprentice, Leeds
“One of the main benefits of studying to become a Solicitor via the Apprenticeship route is that it is free. I do not pay for my degree and in fact, I am paid whilst studying for it. I am gaining experience in the legal environment whilst undertaking my studies, which means that by the time I become a qualified Solicitor, I will have a lot of knowledge under my belt that someone undertaking the traditional route may not have. In addition, both Plexus and the University of Law (the provider of the legal apprenticeship course) are very supportive. There are a great network of people who will assist with any queries I have and iron out any issues with my studies.”
Emily Craven, Solicitor Apprentice, Halifax
“I joined Plexus Law in 2014 as a Legal Apprentice. I came straight from College having no legal experience under my belt to study and work on a two year apprenticeship programme in providing Legal Services. My studies covered a basic understanding of Civil Law including Law of Tort and Civil Litigation. These studies and the area in which I worked sat perfectly alongside of each other and both helped me to gain an understanding of the legal world. I enjoyed my area of work and the studies during the apprenticeship so much that I decided to ‘upskill’ and apply for the Solicitor Apprenticeship that Plexus offer. This entails 6/7 years’ worth of work including law degree (with no student debt!) and two big examinations at the end of the 7 years. Once these have been successfully completed I will be a qualified Solicitor with Plexus.”
